Omotola Thomas – UK
Omotola Thomas, a self-proclaimed “reckless optimist”, was diagnosed with PD at 35. She is the founder of ParkinStand® - a movement that inspires people to engage in empowering physical and mental activities. She believes in the power of positivity and promotes that message through ParkinStand.
About #UNITED – “This is more than just an awareness campaign for me; this is an opportunity to drive a change in social behaviour towards people with Parkinson’s disease, especially in communities well beyond the borders of the Western world where there are gross misconceptions about the illness.” said Omotola.
A passionate PD advocate, she volunteers extensively for PD charities & PD-related causes. She recently participated in policy roundtable discussions at the EU Parliament in Brussels with MEPs on behalf of those diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD).
